About PMC
Premier Micronutrient Corporation (PMC) develops and markets scientifically researched, customized formulations of natural vitamins, minerals and antioxidant supplements, also known as micronutrients. These custom formulations, which are the product of over 25 years of scientific and medical research, are used to enhance the treatment of such diseases as cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease and radiation exposure and the promotion of optimal health. The goal of PMC is to protect the human body through the use of micronutrient supplementation. PMC was founded in 2000 by Kedar N. Prasad, Ph.D., William C. Cole, Ph.D., and Gerald M. Haase, M.D. The company headquarters is located in Nashville, Tennessee with the Clinical Programs Center in Denver, Colorado and the Antioxidant Research Institute in Novato, California. PMC is a wholly owned subsidiary of PMC Holdings, Inc.
The company began offering products on a limited basis in 2001. In 2002, PMC was contacted by the Marine Corps Systems Command and was invited to discuss its approach in the use of antioxidants as a mitigator against low dose ionizing radiation. The USMC was aware of Dr. Prasad's work in this area because he was the first person to receive a Ph.D in radiation biology in the United States. This meeting set PMC on the path of being vetted by top military scientists over a two year period and resulted in the reciept of a FY 2005 Department of Defense (DOD) contract. The company is now entering its fifth year of Congressional funding of DOD programs. Based on PMC's scientific foundation, clinical and research data, and government programs, the company has developed a unique approach to the micronutrient supplement market.
PMC has built the infrastructure to become a major force in the growing industry of micronutrient supplements. The market is poised for a scientific and clinically based high quality product. To meet this high expectation PMC has developed over 21 unique micronutrient formulations for both preventive and adjunctive disease management.
